Alaska – Kenia Peninsula

Well – just to let you all know Alaska is not that cold in the Summer – shorts and t-shirts were worn on numerous occasions. The Peninsula offered numerous hikes along river and lakes, stunning coastline and epic wildlife!DSCN1534 DSCN1548 DSCN1586 DSCN1594 DSCN1723 DSCN1734 DSCN1832 DSCN1912 DSCN1989 DSCN2022 DSCN2107 DSCN2181 DSCN2148 DSCN2155 DSCN2176 DSCN2177 DSCN2185

We were back in a boat, this time to capture a glimpse of humpback whales, Edd was hoping for a breach, however no such luck!  we did see them feeding and tail slapping.  we also go up close and personal with a glacier, a 30 storey wall of ice breaking off into the ocean.  Boy was it cold!

Vancouver for a day!

After a free bottle of champagne on Virgin Atlantic we arrived in Vancouver very tired. Was well worth a stop as visited the lovely Stanley Park and then a 4 hr charter out of Richmond to see the orcas. We were lucky enough to follow a family of 6 around – tail slapping, spy hopped, logging, porpoising and even catching prey! Check out the pics!

Also had a lovely sushi meal with Neil and Rachelle – family friends from last visit here – and yes the sushi is the best outside of Japan.
